Atricore Partners with Norway’s Conduct, Bringing Identity Management Solutions and Support Home to Europe - 11.02.2010
In tech-savvy Norway, Conduct’s local support combined with Atricore’s federated identity platform unlocks access to the secure portals favored by consumers
Norway, whose government has encouraged the use of Open Source solutions for years, is the latest venue for Atricore’s Identity Management solutions. Atricore has partnered with Conduct, Norway’s leading open source software service provider, adding local commercial support to the identity solutions tool bag for European customers.
In technically advanced Norway, businesses need to work hard to keep up with consumers. Open source solutions are the norm, from the government level on down. High-tech is just everyday business here; for example, citizens enjoy one-click access to a host of government services and information through the Norway.no Web site. Described as “the gateway to the public sector in Norway” the site offers Norwegian citizens a secure portal to public agencies, the presentation of personal data stored in public registers and the opportunity to submit online applications and notifications. The site’s list of links reads like a list of ingredients for what makes the world go ‘round: Banking, Industry and Trade, Diplomacy, Tourism and Trade Relations, Culture and Science, Education – agencies involved in all these areas reach Norwegian consumers through the Norway.no site. The consumer can literally log-in to their government, tapping in to a wealth of information and services.
But is it secure? You bet it is. Very, very secure, through the use of built-in federated identity management. However, what makes the site secure for Norway’s technically savvy consumers can pose an obstacle to the companies who hope to access the portal in order to reach them.
Atricore and Conduct have partnered to bring European companies the timely and cost-effective federated identity management solutions that they need to access portals like this one, in Norway and beyond. As time goes on, more and more consumers will access goods and services through secure sites like Norway.no. Traditional identity management solutions are expensive and time-intensive to implement. While other solutions may be less expensive, their support network can be far away from a given company’s home base. The partnership of Atricore and Conduct addresses both of these issues. JOSSO 2.0, Atricore’s next-generation identity product, provides a timely and cost-effective technical solution. Conduct is Norway’s leading service provider for open source and identity management platforms. As partners, Conduct and Atricore will focus on providing both public and private organizations the solutions and support that they need to leverage the identity provider infrastructure that the Norwegian government has implemented for citizens’ use.
Gianluca Brigandi, CEO of Atricore, Inc. says:
"This partnership represents Atricore’s first significant step in supporting our current and future customers in Europe, powered by one of the organizations leading the open source-backed identity and access management setting in Europe. Atricore’s next-generation federated identity management technology, at low cost, with European-based support. Conduct’s superlative service and know-how. New solutions for the technically advanced European market.
