Atricore Expands Presence in Brazil - Tue Jun 08 09:03:00 CDT 2010
Combine technical expertise with local manpower, add a liberal dose of open source code and mix with cutting edge solutions to some of the hi-tech industry’s biggest challenges, in the 10th largest economy in the world?
Leaders at New York's Atricore and the São Paulo-based GoNow feel this is a recipe for success in the fast-growing tech sector of the so-called BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China). In June 2010, Atricore and GoNow formed a partnership to provide Brazil’s first-ever enterprise-level identity management professional services that are backed by open source software.
Following the Brazilian government’s lead in favoring open source solutions, GoNow was an early adopter of JOSSO, Atricore’s flagship identity management product. By officially partnering with Atricore, Inc. the large, local Brazilian company hopes to increase its reach. They’ll be the first in the Brazilian market to offer expert professional services in federated identity backed by JOSSO and Atricore's Identity Bus, the open source solutions pioneered in New York.
Since 2005, when the Brazilian government rejected commercial software to power their technical infrastructure in favor of Linux and other open source solutions, the use of open source has been extremely popular. GoNow’s adoption of Atricore’s identity management products is another validation of the Brazilian government’s mission to provide high tech at low cost. Combining GoNow’s local cachet and connections with Atricore’s unparalleled technical expertise provides Brazil’s large corporations with a cost-effective, local alternative to traditionally expensive identity management. As early adopters, the folks at GoNow have already gained experience with Atricore’s products. Now, as a local proximity center, they have an even greater ability to support their Brazilian customers.
Back in New York, the Atricore company founders are as excited as their Brazilian counterparts about actively engaging in Latin America.
"GoNow is an ideal partner for Atricore not only because of our joint successes in Brazil, but also because of their proven track record in delivering measurable value to Latin-American companies." said Gianluca Brigandi, CEO of Atricore Inc.
The partnership means that GoNow become official purveyors of JOSSO and Atricore’s Identity Bus. The Atricore Identity Bus provides a foundation for next-generation federated identity services in a secure and easy-to-manage implementation. It works with existing enterprise identity management infrastructures from a variety of vendors, right out of the box; and it easily scales and adapts to meet future identity and access management requirements. JOSSO, or Java Open Single Sign-On is an open source JavaEE, Spring and Microsoft Windows-based SSO infrastructure that provides a solution for centralized, platform neutral user authentication and authorization.
Bringing identity management home in open-source-friendly Brazil means local jobs and at-home solutions for services which have traditionally been more expensive and have often been outsourced.
Atricore is an open source identity management company. They offer professional, budget-wise and time-effective identity management services delivery.
GoNow acts as a consultant, matching information technology to business needs. The company pledges to offer the very newest market solutions, seeking constant improvement and innovation, and making use of the most advanced tools in order to ensure the delivery of the best solutions and results for each client's unique needs.
