US Department of the Interior

JOSSO EE customer The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS or FWS) is an agency of the US federal government within the US Department of the Interior dedicated to the management of fish, wildlife, and natural habitats.

The FWS required an identity and access management system with single sign-on capability. The system needed to integrate with the existing IT ecosystem’s user repositories as well as with previously on-boarded applications. Agency users regularly accessed services through a legacy self-services portal with which the solution needed to integrate seamlessly. Additional requirements included the ability to apply different authentication policies to users belonging to other organizations; and the solution must support SmartCard authorization. Implementation would be accomplished in-house, with a technical team lacking specialized knowledge in this type of sophisticated IAM solution.

JOSSO Enterprise Edition and Atricore provided user-friendly customization options, making it possible for FWS to fashion an IAM solution compatible with their legacy systems, while also allowing for modernization and upgrades. With consultative support from our team of IAM experts, the FWS techs accomplished their project goals while gaining experience and skills. JOSSO EE’s built-in flexibility provides for their needs today and as their implementation evolves.
