New Convenia HR System Connector for MidPoint Integration

We are glad to announce the release of new Convenia HR system integration with MidPoint. This specialized connector, developed by our CTO, Sebastian Gonzalez Oyuela, it enables organizations using Convenia's human resources platform to achieve seamless employee data synchronization, organizational structure management, and identity governance automation.

The Convenia connector addresses a fundamental challenge facing modern organizations:

Key capabilities and technical features

The connector provides comprehensive data synchronization across three critical object types:

Employee accounts sync personal information, job assignments, and custom fields directly from Convenia to MidPoint, ensuring identity records remain current and accurate across systems.

Department mapping automatically translates Convenia's organizational units into MidPoint OrgUnits, maintaining hierarchical structures and supporting role-based access control implementations.

Job position integration converts Convenia job data into MidPoint roles, enabling automated access provisioning based on employee positions and responsibilities.

Implementation and deployment

Installation follows standard MidPoint connector deployment procedures. After building the connector with Maven, administrators copy the generated JAR file to MidPoint's icf-connectors directory and restart the system. The connector includes built-in connection testing, schema discovery, and comprehensive logging for troubleshooting and monitoring.

Configuration requires three essential parameters: your Convenia API private token, organization UUID, and organization name. Optional parameters enable advanced features like custom field synchronization and API endpoint customization.
